Rising P-pop boy group 1621 explores the lingering feelings and what-ifs of romantic tension in their new single “Bababa.”

The upbeat track shows how 1621 members JM, JC, Pan, Win, Migz, and DJ approach love as they liken their feelings to the motion of an elevator ride. It serves as the second single from their upcoming extended play (EP) set to be released this year.

Rondy Pangyarihan composed and co-produced the song with Randy Prasetyo and Juju Maglacas, while ABS-CBN Music operations, content, and creative head Jonathan Manalo, StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos, and Perry Lansigan served as its executive producers.

After showcasing their exceptional skills as idols in the survival reality show “Dream Maker,” 1621 made their debut in 2023 with a self-titled EP featuring the tracks “Laruan” and “Ikaw at Ikaw.”

In 2024, the group received the special award for PPOP Potential at the PPOP Music Awards and was nominated for Best Performance by a New Group at the 37th Awit Awards.

Last January, they returned to the music scene with a powerful EDM single “Bagamundo,” which they performed at the first leg of “BINIverse World Tour 2025” pre-show held at the Philippine Arena.
